Thurrock Rugby Football Club

Thurrock Rugby Football Club is a community rugby club primarily providing competitive and recreational rugby and related activities. We have a flourishing and successful youth, junior and mini section with teams of girls and boys covering all ages from 5 years to 18 years, a very successful ladies team (the T-Birds) playing in the ladies Championship and senior men's rugby with 4 teams and our first team playing in London 1 (N).

The club is also a base for many other clubs and societies. We host a successful squash section, Belhus Weightlifting Club, Linford Joggers, ladies and men's darts and our clubhouse facilities are used by many other community based clubs and societies

Since the advent of professional Rugby the cost of supporting our rugby activities has increased considerably as has the costs involved in the upkeep of the club premises and grounds. We have also set ourselves challenging targets for the coming seasons, at senior level with our first team target of returning to London Div 1 within 5 seasons, fully supporting our ladies in the national leagues and increasing the number of men, ladies, youths, juniors and minis playing the game. To enable the club to achieve these goals and operate we rely heavily on a number of smaller sponsors and volunteer members however we have now taken the step of trying to expand the number of sponsors and partners by contacting a number of locally based business and individuals to see if we can attract additional sponsorship to the club to attempt to make our rugby activities self-financing, indeed the good news is that the club may be able to match fund from grants some of the monies raised by sponsorship.
